May your spirit free forever be.....

Be at peace my dear old friend, I will always remember you, and you will continue to live in my heart, now and always.

Although I only met you a few short months ago, it felt like I had known you all my life, you were incredible, a very special kind of horse. After all you had been through in your life, you continued to be strong willed and forgave us mere humans for your suffering.

Docky, my dearest friend, you will never know what you brought into my life, just meeting you has changed it for the better, if it wasn't for you I would never had been at PH every day, you pulled me in on a daily basis, the way you had that mischievous glint in your eye, you know, the one that said 'where's the cookies" or "hey, cheese burger and fries" at the feed room door. You always knew when there was some thing in my pocket for you and you followed me all over till you got what you wanted, and just to say "thanks" you would "snot" my shirt, jeans or boots, you were definitely a character, and I loved you for that. Each morning you were there waiting to say hello and at night you would nicker when I went home, knowing that I would be back next day just for you. I loved the way you would put you head between my hands when I sat on a chair outside the barn, just so you could have you face scratched, you would stand there and just nod your head up and down, up and down.... remember the apple stew I used to make for you because you didn't drink enough water and the slurping noise you made when you drank the apple juice at the bottom, you made us laugh so much.

I remember the quiet times, just you and me hanging out in the barn, the way you stood in the breezeway when we were cleaning stalls just to get a hug so you would move a little to let us get by, the way you deliberately went into a clean stall and pooped or stole the hay we had just put in, or you would stand in the stall doorway and take a nap and we would wait till you woke up to clean that one. As Ben says, you are the only horse to get away with nipping people, you had that " it wasn't me" look on your face, and how could we forget the head butting to get us to the feed room for even more cookies.

Over the last couple of weeks I watched you slowly decline in you health, we all did, it was the hardest thing to admit that your time was now limited with us, so we gave into your every wish for whatever you wanted, cookies, "pony pot" and as much bread as you wanted.

Then the day came for you to leave us, I will always remember you laying you head on my lap and the way you held yourself when you got up, every time the gate open, you would look around to see if your matriarch, Deb was coming, you held on for her, you wanted us, your herd to be there and we were, all of us... we kept you company till the end...

Doc, you changed so many lives, healed many more hearts, you are, and will be what Passion Horse is all about......

"May you have many green pastures to roam and all your days be filled with sunshine"

"Dock a Rocka"

On October 16th we lost our dear loved Doc aka Doc a Rocka. He was starting to suffer and his time had come to cross over the rainbow bridge. His passing was the most beautiful event I have ever experienced. He was with over 12 Doc lovers at his side with our hands on him as he passed. He will always be missed here.
As a rescuermy striving to save horses abused, neglected and starved will now be in memory of my dear loved Doc. He is a horse that touched my heart in a way no other animal has. He was extremely forgiving even after the abuse he had encountered. Snot and all,  for those of you who knew him well.
With the mounting vet bills and expenses to have him put to sleep and and taken away  I need your help.

We have a Doc fund and also "Cafe Press" where you can buy items in his memory that will help us raise money for these expenses.

We appreciate your help.

Please remember... It truely is all about the horses!
Oh ..... and Doc.

Deb
